 Mission Statement...
Saint Mary of the Lake School educates the whole child - spiritually, intellectually, socially, and physically. Healthy self-concepts are fostered in a climate that emphasizes God's unconditional love and lays the foundation for lifelong learning and growth. Academic excellence and community service have been our proud tradition for more than forty years.

Our History...
The parish built St. Mary of the Lake School in 1964. The school was established to provide a faith centered Catholic education to 1st through 6th grade elementary students in the Harbor Country area. Many changes have occurred throughout the years as the parish and school have grown. In 1975 preschool and Kindergarten was added to St. Mary of the Lake School's program under the Kaleidoscope Preschool and Childcare Center. Today, not only do we offer morning and afternoon preschool sessions, we also offer full-time day care services daily from 7:30 am trough 6:30 pm. In 1996/97 St. Mary's added 7th and 8th grade at St. Mary of the Assumption Campus in Three Oaks, Michigan. Grades Preschool through 5th remained on St. Mary's New Buffalo Campus.

...Present
In 2003, our new addition including a library/media center, gymnasium, art/music room, three middle school classrooms, cafeteria and performing arts stage was completed bringing our 6th, 7th, & 8th grade students back to the New Buffalo Campus.
