Music is alive and well at St. Mary of the Lake School! Mrs. Caress teaches General Music to K-5 graders. (See Activities area below for updates on new programs for 3-5 grade.)

K-2nd graders are singing songs, learning rhythm with clapping and instruments, how to read notes, and the four instrument families.

Middle school students are following a Music Appreciation and History curriculum.(See other adventures in Activities below.)

RECORDERS
	Our 3rd and 4th graders are learning to play the recorder. They will be allowed to bring them home to practice after they are able to play well enough not to drive parents crazy!

HAND BELLS
	The 5th grade students are forming a hand bell choir and are practicing during Music Class. They are learning about rhythm and reading notes.

SCHOOL OF ROCK?
	No Jack Black, but the Middle School students are working on songs for Mass that include some of our guitar, drum and bass players. We'd love someone to donate a drum set!
