On December 19, 2008, over 50 St. Mary's students and their families hosted a holiday dinner and assisted with gift wrapping and playing with resident children at the Benton Harbor Emergency Shelter. It was a generous display of compassion and human spirit in a world marked by despair and hardship. To the families who worked so hard to make it happen that cold, snowy night: the Armstrong family, the Hornaday/Beers family, the Giancaspro family, the Purcell family, the Wilkinson family, the Coffeen family, the Kemper family, the Gold family, the McCollum/Pyshos family, the Bardusk family, the Brown family, the Campbell family, the Carpenter family, principal Kathleen Kelly and teachers Lauralee and Gail Caress and their husbands- a big thank you for your kindness, hard work, donations and dedication to our community. And to Chris Purcell, many thanks for the wonderful pictures of the event, and Diane Giancaspro, for making the photos look so beautiful on the page.
